Welcome

And thank you for joining us at FIELD AND GROVE MAGAZINE.

Welcome

With a name such as, FIELD AND GROVE, most would assume this magazine's targeted reader is just about anyone involved in agriculture. And they would be right - sort of. Because, while I am convinced farming aficionados everywhere would find something of interest in each issue, the publication is uniquely devoted to profiling agricultural operations rooted in Southern Florida. The distinctive lifestyle that ensues (much more a benefit than a by-product) is also a focus of the publication.

Many believe, as I do, that a magazine dedicated to those who work the land, tend the trees, raise the livestock and strive to preserve a time-honored way of life in this part of Florida has certainly been a long time coming.

But, while the publication’s editorial content may favor a traditional bent, the method of delivery is purely high-tech. Each issue of FIELD AND GROVE MAGAZINE will be e-mailed FREE once a month to online subscribers who have only to request it.

This magazine is the first online publication devoted to covering a broad range of agricultural enterprises and all that entails in Southeast and Southwest Florida. The coverage is ambitious - ten counties - but the focus is narrow and to the point. The magazines's editorial coverage will encompass the following ten counties: Broward, Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, Lee, Miami-Dade, Martin, Monroe and Palm Beach.

The inaugural issue is scheduled to publish February 2009. We hope you enjoy it and the others that follow. And like any other worthwhile publication, we value our reader's imput. Please contact me with ideas for articles you would like FIELD AND GROVE to cover.
